Walter Uhorchak Obituary
Walter Uhorchak 93, of Hendersonville went to be with his Lord on Thursday April 05, 2018 at Park Ridge Health.

A native of New York City, he moved to Hendersonville in 2005 with his loving wife Sarah Hudgins Uhorchak. He was the youngest of three sons born to the late John and Viktoria Trofimiak Uhorchak. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah, his son Gregory James Uhorchak, and his daughter Vicki Lee Uhorchak, his brothers and parents. His survivors include numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII, attaining the rank of Sergeant. After his discharge and completion of college, he was later involved in the research, development and production of conventional and unconventional weaponry and advanced space vehicles both for the U.S. Air Force and other Government agencies at Eglin AFB and several Lockheed facilities. He also had been assigned to a Lockheed facility in Tehran, Iran, where he was involved in developing and implementing a modern aerospace supply system for the Imperial Iranian Air Force prior to the revolution. He retired from the Lockheed Martin Company, Marietta, Georgia in March 1991 after 31 years of service. After his retirement he established a consulting service dealing in quality assurance management systems.

He was an ordained deacon of the First Baptist Church, Marietta, Georgia.

After moving to Hendersonville in 2005, he taught adult Sunday School Class at the First Baptist Church of Hendersonville, NC.

A funeral service will be held Sunday April 08, 2018 at 2PM at the Chapel in the Pines of Jackson Funeral Service. Interment will follow the service at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
