I'm just learning of his passing today, but I hope this message gets passed along to his family. I had the pleasure of working for him in the early to mid 80's, as his office tech and private surgical scrub nurse at WDH. Since I viewed his work under a microscope, I can say definitively that he was an "amazing" surgeon! Steady as a rock! But, even more than that, he was an amazing man. I remember him most for his patience and the respect he showed to all he knew. My heart goes out to all his family and friends, as he will be missed.

Our deepest sympathy and condolences to Kathy and the extended Eagan family. Words cannot say how much we are going to miss Ed. Everybody in this world should be lucky enough to have a friend, especially a best friend, like Ed. Personally, we shall miss the family vacations, (hello Myrtle beach), the card games, the lively conversation, the summer days at Winnipesaukee, and the advice and mentorship through the tougher times in life. RIP my friend.

To the Eagan Family.....my son Matt and I send our deepest regrets upon hearing the sad news. When I moved to Dover in (gulp) 1992, Ed and Kathy were the kindest, most welcoming neighbors imaginable. Ed ensured that every other guy in the neighborhood was competing for second place in the handsome contest! Condolences to Kathy and the kids, carry on his great legacy of kindness, health, and sportsmanship!

Mrs. Eagan and Family,
I am so sorry to hear this. I have fond memories of babysitting at your house when I was young and in later years seeing Mr. Eagan at the indoor pool doing his laps. No one was in better shape then him. He was taken way too soon. Our sincere condolences to you all.

I remember Ed as a teammate from the 1957 Harry Agganis All-Star football team when we played against the Suburban All-Stars in Manning Bowl in Lynn, Mass. I went to Lynn Classical and he went to St. John's Prep. I thought I recognized him at a St. Thomas High School athletic event many years ago. Our sons attended STA together. I again met him for the first time in 60 years at the Governor's Inn at a medical event and we were able to reminisce about our days in high school and college. He was a wonder guy and an excellent football player. I would like to extend my sincerest condolences to his wife and family.

I worked for Dr. Eagan back in the 70s. I have the fondest memories of him and his family. We shared many Christmas eves with them as well. He was a mentor for me and I am still working in Pediatric Ophthalmology at an age when I should be retired.
RIP Ed - you left your mark on the world.

Dr. Eagan was my doctor for many years prior to his retirement. We shared the same date of birth and always commented on that each August. He was a good man and wonderful eye specialist. I will remember him in my prayers.

Kathy, Susie, Cindy, Julie & Ted, My heart goes out to you for this tragic loss. Ed was a wonderful man & a phenomenal surgeon. I've always been grateful for the 2 surgeries he performed on my son Michael that straightened his eyes before he was 2 yrs old. Many fond memories of you all...babysitting the kiddos as a teenager, neighbored block parties, our boys playing when they were little, the list goes on. Much love to all ❤ RIP Ed
