DORIS BUNTE Obituary

BUNTE, Doris (Brown) Age 87 of Brookline, formerly of Roxbury, passed away on February 15, 2021. A lifelong public servant, Boston Housing Authority Commissioner and Administrator and the First African American woman elected to the Massachusetts State Legislature. Beloved mother of Yvette Johnson, Harold Brown and the late Allen Brown. She is survived by three grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, extended family, and a grateful community. A private Memorial Service is planned Tuesday, March 2, 2021 from 12 Noon-2PM Friends are invited to join remotely by Zoom using meeting I.D. #890-6930-8209, password doris33. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Doris Bunte Fund. Davis Funeral Home

I remember Mrs Butte as an active member of Eliot Congregational Church. She was always a vocal member at all church meetings and made suggestions that were in the best interest of the Church.
