McDONOUGH, Sister Catherine Joseph DC Sr. Catherine Joseph, age 86, died Dec. 29, 2020 in Albany, NY. Born to Patrick and Katherine (O'Laughlin) McDonough in Jan. 1934, Sister and her six sisters grew up in South Boston, MA. She entered the Daughters of Charity in 1952 in Emmitsburg, MD. Sister earned her BA in Elementary Education from St. Joseph College, Emmitsburg (1964) and MS in Elementary Education from Niagara University, NY (1980). She served in elementary education and parish ministry in Maryland, North Carolina and Connecticut, and taught for 11 years in both Binghamton, NY (1993-2004) and Holbrook, MA (2004-2015). She entered the Ministry of Prayer at St. Louise House in Albany in 2015, where she served until her death. Survived by five sisters, Peggy, Anna, Eileen, Barbara, and Patricia, many nieces and nephews; many friends; and her Sisters in Community; she was predeceased by her sister, Kathleen. A private Funeral Mass was held in Albany, NY on Jan. 4, 2021; internment at St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands, NY.
