My sincere condolences to the Callaghan family. Poey was a great guy and we had great times growing up. We played on many teams together and he and his family were a huge part of BYSA. I'll always remember his big smile and sense of humor. Sad to lose such a good man. Rest easy brother.

I did not know him but I do know that the disease of addiction often takes the best humans. May he rest easy

My heart is broken at reading this news. Poey and I spent much time together in high school. We were there for one another when we most needed support. From singing in the choir together (the smart guys knew that was the best place to pick up chicks), to playing soccer, organizing huge pit parties, and navigating the trials and tribulations of our own doing as teenagers in the 80s.
We were immortal, or so we thought. I will always remember his tremendously boisterous laugh and his incomparable conviction to be who he was, come hell or high water. He was unapologetic in his voracious appetite for living life to the fullest and took his lumps as they came with a shrug of the shoulders. He exuded joy.
Dear one, gone too soon. Much love to you and your family from across the years.
He rests in peace and has risen to glory with God.
