GRANOFF, Frances Of Slingerlands, NY, formerly of Brookline, MA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 30, 2021, her family at her bedside, a few weeks before her 99th birthday.
Born in East Orange, NJ, she graduated from Upsala College and was employed as a chemist. She met her husband, the late Phillip Granoff, on a blind date and they shared a wonderful, loving marriage for 47 years. They loved symphony concerts, theatre, and travel and delighted in their children's many music and dance recitals and baseball games.
An avid bridge player for 75 years, she was also an accomplished hostess, cook, baker, and gardener. She was happiest with family and friends laughing around her dining room table and her quiet strength, warmth and grace were effused with a sparkle of mischievous wit. She would describe her day as "wonderful" just because she had spent it in the sunshine. The day she passed away, she said simply, "Happiness. Not tears."
Due to the pandemic, all Services will be private at Sharon Memorial Park in SHARON, MA.
She is survived by her four children: George Granoff (Carol) of Boynton Beach, FL, Mark Granoff (Lisa) of Natick, MA, Ellen Busch of Glenmont, NY, and Joan Goldfarb of Lake Forest, CA, her six grandchildren: Brian Busch (Robin) of Belmont, MA, Lori Feldman (Eli) of Boston, MA, Dara Wolkoff (Eric) of Boston, MA, Adam Granoff (Chelsea James) of New York City, NY, Alex Granoff of Waltham, MA, and Todd Granoff of Brooklyn, NY, and her four great-grandchildren: Madeline and Lucy Busch and Wesley and Evelyn Wolkoff.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Sharon Tietgens for her outstanding care and devotion, and Dr. Bob and Kathy Busch for their love and support.
