I remember Jacob from elementary school. I was in the same grade as Jared and I remember him from SED. One time I remember my mom and I were driving by a temple and we noticed someone selling jewelry outside. We decided to stop and look and it was Jacob selling his own jewelry which he made. Rest in awesome, Jacob.

We weren't close, but I met Jacob at camp, and he always inspired me. He was so carefree and kind to everyone, he lit up the whole camp. Recently I have found it hard to not think about him. But I don't think I ever want to stop. He was such an inspiration, and although we were not close, I will always miss him dearly and remember him fondly.

I will always remember the little boy who never failed to compliment me on something I was wearing. Your bright kind spirit will be missed by all who knew you. Love to Anne, Doug and Jared. I am so very sorry for your loss. I loved that young man as if he were my own. Enjoyed taking him out in NYC when we were both there. Looked forward to his visits to the orthodontist and he always made sure to give me a hug.

on behalf of the volunteers and cats at Guardian Angels Cat Rescue & Adoption Shelter I would like to express our sincere condolences on the passing of your son. From having communication with Rabbi Boaz and reading both the obituary and the Rabbi's words, Jacob sounds like a wonderful young man and an example to all young people.

I am sorry that I did not know him, I feel that he could have taught me a thing or two!

Sincerely,

Daria Neil

I met jacob at camp, he immediately shined as such a bright spirit. He was always making others laugh, and making people's days. I will never forget Jacob, because of his smile and personality. He was taken too soon from us, but I know I will see him again some day.

I never did get to meet Jacob, but reading through these posts, he obviously brought much joy to the many people who were blessed to have him in their life. That's not surprising to me, because having Doug Weiskopf as my next door neighbor freshman year at Cornell was one of the highlights of my college experience. My thoughts and prayers are with the Weiskopf family.

Jacob will always hold a special place in my heart as one of my good friends from childhood. I remember how we used to pick flowers at recess until one day when he told me that we shouldn't pick flowers because then no one else can enjoy their beauty. It was something that stuck with me through the years and always came to mind when I thought of him. He was full of laughs and smiles and in the big scary world of first grade, Jacob was my partner in crime when sneaking our build a bears into school. He will always live on in my memories of our schemes. His family and friends are all in my prayers.

We think of you often
and make no outward show,
But what it means to lose you,
no one will ever know
You wished no one farewell,
not even said good-bye,
You were gone before we knew it,
and we don't know why.
You are not forgotten
nor will you ever be,
As long as life and memories last,
we will remember thee.

Your friends at TJ Maxx will miss you deeply. We love you Jacob.

Jacob was the type of person to light up anyone he encountered or any room that he walked into. He was simply just a one of a kind person that after meeting him you would never forget him. His passion for fashion was contagious as was his smile that was always shining from ear to ear. Though Jacob and I weren't the best of friends he always had a special ora about him that made everyone want to be around him. Though my time spent with him last summer was short his spirit will forever live on and I will never forget the happiness he brought to my world and all others around as well. Rest in peace Jacob, you will truly be missed.

Anne, Doug and Jared, I can't even imagine what you are all going through now as you mourn the loss of beloved son and brother. I remember well the joy that both boys' birth brought to Anne and the visceral pride she felt as she shared stories and photos with clients and co-workers alike. I have thoroughly enjoyed following the exploits of your family through the years via social media. Your relationship to and pride in Jacob leaps off the screen. While I didn't know him as a young man, it is very easy to see that he was remarkable-talented, courageous, loving-just like his mother. My heart breaks for you all as you move on holding Jacob in you minds and heart without being able to hold him in your arms. Much love and prayers for peace.

Jacob made me feel accepted when other rejected me, consoled me when others put me down, and generally made me happier when in his presence. I have so many memories with him from being with him for such a short time, and I can happily say that every single one puts a smile on my face. I can't believe that he's gone at such a young age. He had so much more left to experience, and so many more lives to enlighten, just like mine. He radiated happiness, he made every day exciting, and he could always make me laugh. He's going to be greatly missed by everyone. But I'm so grateful to have met him and shared so many good times with him. I love you and miss you so much Jacob. I hope you're resting in peace.

Fond memories of all the time the gang got to spend together at Camp Dudley
Jacob, you have brought so much joy to the world and to our lives over the past 17 years. We have nothing but the fondest memories of time spent with you throughout your life. What a charming sense of humor. It takes a strong man to make a stand for their beliefs and principles when it may not be popular do so amongst your peers. We're all proud of you and everything that you have stood for. You will always hold a special place in our hearts. With much love, PV, Dawn and Paul

Jacob-
You told me many times to "do what makes you happy," and all I can say is that you were the exemplar of that statement. Any day became better just by seeing you and hearing your infectious laugh. You gave me something that no one else could; a space where I could just be and just talk. And you always responded with wisdom and advice that have stuck with me ever since. You are a part of me forever. I love you always "my love."

We were so proud to honor Jacob with the Zev Heilman Memorial Scholarship at Congregation B'nai Torah just a few years ago. Jacob, words can't describe the impact you had on my life. Somehow, you got me - one of the least artistic people I know - through three sessions of a summer camp for the arts and made me a better person through it all.
