I lived near Joan in Cambridge on Mass. Ave. We had great fun together in the 80's and 90's. We went to meetings, restaurants, and often just hung out at her large, sunny, top floor apartment. I loved her bright mind. It was never boring spending hours talking, drinking herbal tea, and playing with the cat or dog.

And she threw some great parties in that apartment too. Always with a charmingly eclectic crowd of folks in attendance. She will be missed! A truly unique soul.

Joan and I graduated from Olney Friends School in 1973 with a class of 26. My memory of Joan was of her as a kind, very observant, funny, witty person who was able to see things from another person perspective. I am a better person for having known her. My thanks to those who knew her in more recent times.

Barb Bray & I sat w/Joan and suffered through Miss Kirk's homeroom at Woodbury. We had a lot of fun tormenting Miss Kirk, and I remember Joan so fondly. I lost touch with her after we moved, ran into her older brother in law school but had often wondered what she was up to. So very sorry to learn that she has passed.

Joan was my first roommate at Olney. We had so many good times together. I can't imagine a more fun person to meet as a Freshman. After Olney we connected several times in Cambridge, MA where I attended her shows at the Ding Ho and we saw movies together in Harvard Square. I think about you often Joan. I offer deep condolences dear family and friends.

I remember Joan from our religious school classes at Silver's temple in Cleveland. I remember going to her house and sitting at a built-in table on benches in the kitchen and eating lunch with her and her brother Andy. I've been trying to find her for years and have been unable to. She was a good friend back in middle and high school even though I haven't seen her in years I've been thinking of her often. I we'll miss her. Jody Eigner Turano sending prayers and deepest condolences.

Joan's friendship while we were at Woodbury Junior High together left a lasting impression on my life. I have a feeling she continued to do that throughout her years. Our walks down Coventry to her home were filled with teen girl talk and laughter. Please accept my most sincere condolences in your loss.
