I worked with John in Franklin. When I met my soul mate he was our council he taught us much. The greatest gift was having this amazing man marry us we were gifted with the most special gift. A seasoned ( likely many years) cast iron pan. I lovingly use to this day 20 years later. I´ll never forget his personality and great love for not only God but all his creations. Including mechanical. We just celebrated our 20 th wedding anniversary. Remembering our time with you both as co workers and the most important man in our lives. You are missed. Much love to family

Having presided over my father and stepmother's wedding over 30 years ago, as well as my own just 2 years ago, John has been a special part of my life and faith. His soothing voice, and lively manner will be with me always. My heart goes out to Nancy and his children.

Dear Nancy & family,
John was such a special person, and an incredible strenth to my family over the many years. I have so many fond memories of him, his wit and his kind heart. It seems that we have never ceased to need that special friend, especially of late. He will be deeply missed.

Ned, Mark, Jamie and Tom - While so many called him Father, you're the only ones who called him "Dad." I couldn't begin to imagine the loss you feel. Reading these entries, it's easy to see your Dad meant so much to so many people, me included. Please know that my heart goes out to all of you.
Nancy - I once read that love was "friendship that caught fire." That's what you and John shared. And that fire developed into a deep and enduring love and a successful life-blending. (After all, you brought girls into the all-male Griswold household - that's no small victory!) I have no doubt that love brought John great comfort over the last few weeks and it will help you through the road ahead.
You are all in my thoughts and prayers. Karen.

I was so saddened to hear of John’s passing. “Some people come into our lives and go but some people come into our lives and leave footprints”…for the Chisholm family, John was one of these people. When my husband Jack was very sick and we had 4 young children, Rev. John Griswold entered our lives. He comforted Jack, he comforted me and my “kids" - Craig,Jennifer,Brian and Terri. Even after Jack’s death, John still kept in touch and cared so much. Fr. John was there again for the family when he performed my sister’s wedding. My thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and loved ones. He will be missed.

I met John when his son Ned married my sister. John was always happy and pleasant no matter when I would see him. It was a pleasure to have known him for the time I did. It is sad that his illness overtook such an energetic joyful man. Rest in peace John.

Dear Nancy,
I was so sorry to read of the passing of your dear husband. I never met him, but I remember you speaking very fondly about him during our conversations at Memorial School. My years there were very special to me, made more special by people like you. May God grant you peace in the memories of John that you will always carry in your heart.

Dear Nancy and family,
We were deeply saddened to here of John's passing. We always thought of him as one of the family. He married all five of us children and renewed mom and dad's vows twice, for twentififth and fiftieth.
He has seen our family through good times and bad.He had a way of relating God's work into everyday life and making us chuckle along the way.
He had a zest for life.
He thought the world of his family.
May you find peace and comfort. Yo're in our thoughts and prayers.Love

Dear Nancy, the Hedberg and griswald family,
With courage, humor, and faith we watched John continue to live his life despite the treatments, setacks, and recurrences.
He was there to help encourage others inclusive of my parents using his wit and willingness to be human. He will be missed.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Walpole and Millis, among others, were blessed to have John Griswold pastor churches in these towns. He brought the love of God to many people through his preaching and engaging personality. And now he gets to enjoy the same peace that he preached to us. Thank you, God, for John's life and service.

We are so deeply saddened to hear of John's passing. As we spoke before Xmas, we reminised about our wedding 32 yrs. ago and that of our daughter's in 2005. John also baptized our children and was very instrumental in forming our family's solid religious foundation. He was a very well respected gentle man and a much loved minister to all who knew him. Rest in Peace, dear friend, as God has called you home to do so...and "thankyou, John, for all the wonderful memories".
