Dear Lou, it is with great sorrow and deep saddness that I learned of Jack's death. I take solace in my memory of the visit to the hospital to see him last Saturday, the courage and love in Sandy's voice as she told us this sad news.
As a parent I have been fortunate not to have faced the challenges that you and Sandy have. I hope that if my time comes I have learned from the loving care, courage and devotion that both of you have shown with Jack this past year.
I have insufficient words to express my feelings at this time that can offer you support. However, I can say that you have shown me what the job of parenting is all about.
As always Lou take care of your family, ensure you are there for Sandy and Ben in the coming days and years.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.
