JOHN MCCLOSKEY Obituary

McCLOSKEY, John Stewart Died on September 13, in Lafayette, Indiana, after a long struggle with heart disease. He was 70 years old. John was born in 1955, in Boston, Massachusetts, to Helen Stueland McCloskey and Robert Green McCloskey, both deceased. Raised in Arlington and Belmont, he attended the American College in Paris and graduated from the University of Washington in Seattle. He was a writer and playwright. During the past decade, four of his plays appeared in New York City and four film shorts were shown at independent film festivals. He earned recognition and awards for both his produced and unproduced scripts from the Los Angeles Motion Picture Festival, the Berlin Art Film festival, and independent film festivals in Chicago, Prague, Edinburgh, and Toronto, among others. John lived his life through art. He displayed a brilliant wit and enduring kindness. John will be greatly missed by his loving sisters, Deirdre McCloskey of Washington, D.C. and Laura McCloskey of Tucson, Arizona.
