FREIBERG, Malcolm 91, of Cambridge, formerly of Belmont and Jaffrey, N.H. on Monday, June 27, 2011. Beloved husband of the late Mildred (Pansy). Devoted father of Sarah Freiberg Ellison & her husband Jeffrey Ellison of Belmont and the late Ann Freiberg. Loving grandfather of Lenora Ellison and Lloyd Ellison. Devoted son of the late Elias & Annie (Newberg) Freiberg. Dear brother of the late Rose Meadows and Eva Freedman Clark. Services at the Beth El Temple Center, 2 Concord Avenue, Belmont on Wednesday, June 29 at 10:30 am. Interment at Sharon Memorial Park, Sharon. Memorial observance at the home of Sarah & Jeffrey Ellison following the interment through 7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Mildred & Malcolm Freiberg Fellowship; Massachusetts Historical Society, 1154 Boylston Street, Boston, MA 02215. He received his B.A. from Middlebury College and his PhD. from Brown University. Emeritus Editor of Publications at the Massachusetts Historical Society and author of "Prelude to Purgatory: Thomas Hutchinson in Provincial Massachusetts Politics, 1760-1770", and many sketches of Sibley's Harvard Graduates.
