I have lost my best friend of 57 years! We met in married housing at MSU while Jerry and my husband worked on their PhD's. Our children were the same ages so we were drawn together. While miles separated us through the years, we were always 'in touch' sharing the ups and downs of life while managing occacional visiting trips. When my youngest daughter was born we asked Maxine and Jerry to be her God-parents. She was lucky as they were always in contact with her.
My heart is heavy. I will miss her so much. Her generosity to others was a lesson to us all. She reared two wonderful and talented children!
My sympathy and love to Jerry, LauraLee and Brian,

Maxine was a woman of many talents, deeply held convictions, and unwavering dedication to family. She and Jerry had a wonderful life together and two amazing kids. I always enjoyed seeing her and talking to her, and I marveled at her energy and creativity. I will never forget the kindness and generosity she and Jerry extended to me as a friend of the family through Laura and John. May she rest in peace and joy and may her memory be a blessing. My love and condolences to all who knew and loved her.
