Although we never had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Kechejian, we are fortunate to have as our neighbor and friend his daughter, Ruth. The beauty, kindness, compassion and selflessness ever-present in his daughter are surely qualities bestowed upon her from a lifetime of love and guidance from her father and mother. We wish the entire Kechijian family a peaceful transition and we thank you for the gift you have bestowed upon our neighborhood.

Sincerely,

Mike Finneran

“Death comes to all
But great achievements raise a monument
Which shall endure until the sun grows old.”
George Fabricius, 'In Praise of Georgius Agricola'

Dr. Kechejian's long and distinguished service as a member of the Massachusetts Board of Medicine elevated that practice of medicine in our state. As the Chairman of the Board of Medicine, he was a leader in efforts to give all patients access to information through the creation of the “Physician Profiles” system – the first program of its type in the United States. His dedication to patients was unparalleled. His many achievements have made health care better for all of us – surely “a monument which shall endure until the sun grows old.”

Dr. Kechejian was a staunch supporter of physicians who struggled with their own health issues. Long before the general public recognized depression, alcoholism, and other afflictions as health problems instead of character flaws, Dr. Kechejian was implementing creative, supportive programs to bring physicians back into healthy and safe practice.

Nish Kechejian was a great public servant, a great doctor, and a great man. His warm and genial nature will be sorely missed by all who knew him. The staff of the Massachusetts Board of Medicine will always hold him in their memories with the greatest respect and fondest feelings.

Dear Kechejian family,
My thoughts and prayers are with all of you during this sad time in your lives. Dr. Kechejian was my Dr. way back in 1969, I was 9 yrs old and went through glass doors at the Drive Inn in Avon. He was very kind and gentle with me, as a 9 yrs old. He made me feel safe, and also thought I'd never be able to say or spell his name, but next time I saw him I did. He did a wonderful job on my legs, u can barely see the scars today. I think of him often, and I thank God, he was the Dr. in the ER that evening. May you treasure his memory forever, I know I will.
God Bless !!!!
