Peter Makris Obituary

82 Laconia, NH, of 1086 Weirs Boulevard, Naswa Resort, Lake Winnipesaukee, passed away at Brigham & Women's Hospital, Dana Farber Ward in Boston, February 4, 2007 after a brief illness with lung cancer. Mr. Makris was born October 21, 1924 in Roxbury, MA, the son of the late George and Aspasia (Kutrubes) Makris. He attended Boston schools, served in the Marine Corps during World War II and later enrolled in Suffolk University and Suffolk Law School. While preparing to take the Massachusetts Bar exam, he accepted an appointment on the Boston Police Force, serving in the Charlestown area of Boston. After passing the Massachusetts Bar exam, he resigned from the police force to pursue a career in Law. Survivors include his wife Hope (Salta) Makris; three daughters, Karen Lowell of Gilford, NH; Victoria Makris of Laconia and Cynthia Makris of Laconia; four granddaughters; a brother, James Makris, and two sisters, Angie Makris and Helen Costas all of Boston. Calling hours will be at the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, LACONIA, NH on Friday, February 9, 2007, from 6pm to 9pm. The funeral will be held at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 68 North State Street, Concord, NH. at 12(noon)pm on Saturday, February 10, 2007. Cynthia and Family , I was deeply sadden to read of your dads passing although we haven't been in contact for a few years my memories of times spent at the Naswa and of you and your dad will always be part of my life , May God bless you and your family in your hour of need

Your parents knew me when I was a baby, and I can't imagine what the Naswa is ever going to be like without your Dad's smiling face. I hope when he gets to heaven he finds my grandparents (the Cyr's). He will be forever remembered. You have our deepest sympathy.
