MARRAFFA, Robert D. 58, passed away on Dec. 6, 2018, at the Kaplan Family Hospice House. He was the husband of Jacqueline (Gilson) Marraffa, with whom he shared 34 years of marriage. Born in Salem on May 10, 1960, he was the son of the late Raymond and Nancy (Conti) Marraffa. Bob graduated from St. John's Preparatory School in 1978 and went on to receive his bachelor's degree from Wesleyan University. He was the founder and owner of Marraffa & Associates, Inc., Medical Billing & Consulting, for almost 30 years. In addition to his wife, Jackie, he is survived by his three sons: Robert and his wife, Emily, of Danvers; Jack and his wife, Jamie, of Everett; and Nick of Boston. He had one grandson, Robert (Little Bob). Also surviving is his sister, Janet Berry of Danvers and several nieces and nephews. In addition, Bob leaves behind many close friends with whom he cherished spending good times. Bob was an avid golfer and horse racing enthusiast. A long-time youth football, hockey and baseball coach, Bob loved nothing more than being involved with coaching his sons and later following their high school and college teams. His Memorial Service will be held at noon on Saturday, December 15, 2018, in Memorial Gymnasium at St. John's Preparatory School, 50 Spring St., Danvers. Visiting hours will be held from 9-11:45AM prior to the service on Saturday morning in Memorial Gymnasium. All other services are private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bob's name to Kaplan Family Hospice House, 78 Liberty St., Danvers, or St. John's Prep Athletics, 50 Spring St., Danvers. Bob was always the man you aspired to be. He was a quiet leader. It was just understood. He called it like it was. I'm just a brother of a good friend and I didn't have enough time around him, but any guy who knew Bob knows what I am talking about.
