William Slason Obituary

Age 74 died on March 6, 2003 in Florida. Resident of Sarasota, FL and formerly of Bellingham, and Jamaica Plain section of Boston, MA. Son of the late William J. and Josephine L. (Gray) Slason, Sr. and beloved husband of Ernestine Theresa "Tini" Slason and loving father of Michael Slason of Franklin, MA, Donna Park of Bellingham, MA, Diane McCann Bellingham, MA, Jo Ellen Giunta of Grafton, MA, Janet Aurelio of Framingham, MA. Grandfather of twelve. Brother of Joseph F. "Skip" Slason and the late Francis G. "Frank" Slason. Mr. Slason worked for the Massachusetts Turnpike Authority for 11 years, 'till retiring in 1993 and formerly worked as a Hoisting Engineer or Crane Operator for 28 years and was a Member of the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local #44. Resident of Bellingham, MA for 44 years and formerly of Jamaica Plain section of Boston were he was born and raised and also Dennisport, MA during the summer. He graduated from Hyde Park High School and continued his education at Northeastern University in Boston, MA. Mr & Mrs. Slason were married for 46 years. He was a W.W. II Navy Veteran and held rank of Seaman First Class. Funeral will be held Monday 9 AM from Cartier's Funeral Home, 151 So. Main St., BELLINGHAM, MA with a Mass of Christian Burial 10 AM in St. Brendan's Church, Hartford Ave., Bellingham. Interment VA National Cemetery at 2 PM. Visiting hours Sunday, 5-8 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. At families request, memorial donations to: Hospice of Southwest Florida, 5955 Rand Blvd., Sarasota, FL 34238 would be appreciated.
