WALLIN, Bruce A. Of Jamaica Plain, age 63, on December 29, 2011. Bruce is survived by his wife, Vickie, and two daughters, Anne, and Eva, and sister, Barbara Lynch. Bruce was an associate professor of political science at Northeastern University, and taught hundreds of students in American politics and public finance. His dedication and vibrant personality made his classes legendary, and twice he received NU's Excellence in Teaching Award. Bruce's book on federal revenue sharing received an award from the American Political Science Association. He was a Fulbright Scholar in the Czech Republic and a visiting professor at Universities in Tokyo and Bangkok. Bruce was active in civic life as co-founder of the West Roxbury Courthouse Neighborhood Association.He also provided political commentary to local media outlets and volunteered as a youth soccer coach. Services will be at 1:00 at Forsyth Chapel in Forest Hills Cemetery on Tuesday, Jan. 3. A memorial service for the Northeastern community will be held at a later date.
