PREACH, Lance Cpl. Kevin T. United States Marine Corps, on Feb. 7 from injuries sustained during an attack while serving in Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Kevin was a Machine Gunner with 2nd Marine Division 3/8 Weapons Company. He was age 21. Lance Corporal Preach was born on July 9th, 1987 in Miami, FL. He was a graduate of Bridgewater-Raynham Regional High School Class of 2007 and Marine Corps Boot Camp, Parris Island, SC on January 25 2008. Kevin was the beloved son of Laurie Hayes of Bridgewater and the late Daniel Mark Preach. Loving brother of Private Daniel James Preach, USMC of SC, Michelle Bailey and Kristen Pagnotta both of Brockton. Proud grandson of Peter and Nancy Bresciani and the late Frank and Kathy DeAngelo. Loving and devoted boyfriend of Brianna Kelliher of Bridgewater. A Funeral Service with full Military Honors will be held on Wed., Feb 18 at 11:00 am at the Central Square Congregational Church, 71 Central Square, Bridgewater, MA. Visiting Hours to be held on Tues. from 2:00-4:00pm and 7:00-9:00 pm at the Prophett-Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 98 Bedford St. (Rt18) BRIDGEWATER. Burial will follow at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. didn`know him, but wish him and his family the very, very best. Noticed him, when I saw a tattoo (whoever has it on his back?) and was so extremly moved, that someone expresses his/her grief in such a way. Im sure, that he is as proud of this attachment as the "owner" of the tattoo. Even as I am no fan of tattoos, I would like to get in contact with this person.

I happened to be in Milwaukee this past weekend, and saw the article in the Milwaukee newspaper concerning your son. I was touched to read about him, and to think of the Marines I have known, who have lost their lives, most as young as your son. As the son and brother of Marines, I send you my thoughts and hopes, and wanted to let you know that I appreciate your love for Kevin, and his military service.

I had the humbling honor of participating in the Run for Fallen in Tampa on Aug. 23, 2009 in memory of L.Cpl. Kevin T. Preach. As I searched through the Internet and learned more about this sweet, strong young man,it became apparent that there are no words to convey the extent of my family's gratitude for his service and ultimate sacrifice. To his mother, Laurie, I send my deepest appreciation and wish that there was something I could do or say to lighten her grief. Please know he remains in the hearts of even those of us that never knew him in life.

Kevin, I just wanted to say thank you for your brave and honorable service to a grateful nation, a nation in mourning for our fallen hero’s. You like so many other soldiers chose to serve our nation when needed most and with your life you protected the very core of what America stands for. My nephew PFC Aaron J. Ward also made that sacrifice on 5/6/2008 when he was killed in action in Iraq. As I mourn for my nephew I mourn for you and so many other brave soldiers and please know that you all will forever be in my thoughts and prayers, we as a nation will never forget you. I stand tall and salute you Kevin and from the bottom of my heart I thank you for the nights we at home could sleep without fear and know that we are safe. To the Preach family, words cannot express the pain we now share, but our families will forever have a bond and we will be thinking of Kevin and your family and will keep you in our thoughts & prayers. Since the loss of my nephew I have written on every single legacy page of every fallen soldier and included a photo of my nephew. I encourage you to do the same to Aaron's page. I have done this to honor my nephew but to let you know your loved one is not alone and my nephew is with him and they are now in God's gracious hands waiting for us to join them one day. At your funeral Dan said “He was the guy you’d want your son to grow up to be and your daughter to date”. True words indeed.
