BRENDAN DONNELLY Obituary

DONNELLY, Brendan Patrick 28, of Norwood, formerly of Newport Center, Vermont, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 12, 2015. Born on May 27, 1986, Brendan was the beloved son of John and Suzanne (Beaucaire) Donnelly of Newport Center, VT; the loving brother of Conor Donnelly of Burlington, VT and Garrett Donnelly of Newport Center, VT; the husband of Katerina Donnelly; the proud father of Joshua Brady Donnelly, both of Walpole. He was the cherished grandson of Claire (Rogers) Donnelly with whom he lived in Norwood, the late John Donnelly and the late Donald and Gertrude (Buschenfeldt) Beaucaire; the adored nephew of Paula Donnelly and Scott Davis of Marina, CA, Mark and Lynda Donnelly of Walpole and Steven and Deborah Beaucaire of East Bridgewater; the dear cousin of Lily Donnelly, Brian Beaucaire, Kerri Besagi and her daughter, Kailyn. Brendan graduated from North Country Union High School in Newport Vermont with the Class of 2004, where he played soccer and hockey and was a member of the state championship team in 2001. He later graduated from Porter and Chester Institute. Brendan worked in the electrical field for several years while pursuing his professional license. He loved New England sports, and was an especially avid Bruins fan. For almost four years, Brendan was a member of AA where he actively helped others in their recovery, both in MA and VT. Anyone fortunate enough to have met Brendan knows just how caring he was. Whether lifelong friends or new acquaintances, he always put others first. He had a big heart. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, April 18th, at 9:00 AM at the Gillooly Funeral Home, 126 Walpole St., NORWOOD, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Timothy Church, 650 Nichols St., Norwood. Interment will be private. Visiting hours will be held on Friday, April 17th, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Brendan's memory to the Joshua Donnelly Education Fund via www.gofundme.com

Dearest John, Sue, Connor and Garrett:
Our hearts ache so much for you right now. Brendan was always like a son to us. He would raid our refrigerator, kick the soccer ball around the yard with Kyle, and nap in our hammock with his cap over his face. I'm crying as I write this because those are the memories of Brendan that I will keep close to my heart forever. He was a great athlete, and a fine young man.
May he rest in peace...we will all cherish the memories.

Brendan - complicated, beautiful heart, earnest, vulnerable, compassionate, loving, loyal, respectful, searching, team player, friendly, confused, courageous, challenged, humble, grateful, powerless, wonderful...all these I saw and believe made Brendan the unique young man God has wrapped his arms around and is holding very close. I was blessed to know Brendan!
