SALLY ANN MARCOTTE

1939 - 2015

Marcotte, Sally Ann Of North Hampton, NH, died peacefully on August 22, 2015 at Hyder Family Hospice Center with family by her side. She was born July 31, 1939 in Nashua, NH daughter of the late Dr. Raymond H. and Elizabeth L. Marcotte. Sally worked with children at Boston Children's Hospital as a child life specialist for over two decades. She was an innovator in the use of art and play to facilitate children's emotional expression throughout their illnesses. They inspired her to earn her masters degree in education with a concentration in family therapy. She was later moved by a 20/20 broadcast in 1991 concerning the plight of institutionalized orphans in Romania. Joining forces with the Free Romania Foundation, Sally travelled countless times, over the years, training staff and volunteers in Romania and the US. She often said her work there, especially her hands on time with the children, forever changed the landscape of her heart. She will be remembered for her love of worldwide travel, great sense of humor, artistic creativity, big heart and generous spirit. All looked forward to the festive parties and outdoor movies at her beloved seaside home. Sally leaves sisters Joan Beth Fuller and Jayne McFarland, 11 nieces and nephews, their families and many treasured friends. She was predeceased by her brother Biff.
