JOHN REARDON Obituary

REARDON, John J., Jr. Of Winthrop, Nantucket and Naples, FL, passed away peacefully at home on Jan. 1 at the age of 78 years old. Beloved husband of Marjorie B. (Denholm) for 55 years. Loving father of Laurie Lightbody and her husband Paul of Westborough, Scott T. Reardon of Winthrop and Heather O'Brien and her husband Kevin of Nahant. Brother of Marion Montecalvo and her husband Frank of FL, Joseph Burns of Newburyport and Richard Burns of FL. Cherished grandfather of Lauren Lightbody, Michael O'Brien and Meghan O'Brien. John was the former CEO of Braman, Dow and Co. in Boston and a longtime member of the Alonquin Club in Boston. John lived his life to the fullest; he enjoyed spending time on the beautiful beaches of Nantucket as well as spending time with his two West Highland Terriers. Family and friends are cordially invited to attend the visitation from the Ernest P. Caggiano and Son-O'Maley Funeral Home, 147 Winthrop St., WINTHROP, on Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. The funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Wednesday at 9:00 AM followed by a funeral mass in St. John the Evangelist Church, Winthrop, at 10:00 AM. Interment to follow the mass in the Belle Isle section of Winthrop Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center at https://giving.massgeneral.org. Laura and I are so very sorry for your loss. We always enjoyed seeing John walking with the dog(s) passing our home on Quincy Ave. I was so shocked today when you told me he had passed. So sorry!

Dear Marge, Laurie, Scott, Heather and extended family members,

We are all so very sorry to learn of John's passing. Our memories of him are fond ones. I personally shall miss conversing with him when he stopped to say hello during his walks around the block with the dog(s). He was such a gentleman.
