My brother John Crawford attended Frank and Annis Stukus Byrnell Manor hockey school in Fenelon Falls in the late 60's and 70's. He has many fond memories of Milt. One of them was the times he would take our Mom, Marjorie for a skate during practice. My Dad was the Wonder Bread man for Byrnell and also loved him. RIP Mr. Schmidt, you were the best.

I was lucky to have met Mr. Milt Schmidt twice.
The first time, while waiting for the elevator @ the Garden, I told my friend, Amy, watch this. I walked up to Milt & his bride and said , Excuse me Ma'am but could I ask your date a question. She said to me, Young lady, this man has been my husband for over 45 years and yes, you may. I bold as all out, said are you Milt Schmidt and he was totally floored that I knew who he was.
The second time was a few years later after a great win by our beloved Bruins, again waiting for the elevator going down, my husband, me, Pie McKenzie and his bride, Beth (who I worked with)and Mr.Schmidt. He actually remembered me from the first time and I was so touched.
May he Rest In Peace.

First time I met Milt was at the store Woody had in Needham with the Bauer reps Dick & Rich Igo. Woody would sharpen skates and Milt would tell great stories about Eddie Shore & others. Every time I heard the stories they got bigger & better. I used to drive out there from Revere just to bring coffee & listen. I would try to repeat the stories but nobody told a hockey story like Milt. A few times over the years I would speak with Gordie Howe & he said nobody told a story like Milt. But what was special about him most is he never complained about anything. Health, finances, family. He never complained and loved life. Thank you so much Milt, you are missed by everyone who's life you touched. Roger the Chef

In the mid fifties my dad worked for a company and Milt was a salesman there. If Milt was around, he would pull up a crate in the warehouse and sit and eat lunch with the young workers. My dad always told me what a nice guy Milt was. Great hockey legend and great guy.

May God give him eternal rest and may the Holy Spirit give his family peace and comfort. We will continually keep him in our prayers.

Remember Milt and his family well. Attended most of his games even when the "Kraut Line" were part of the "Bruins Cubs". My husband, Don, golfed with him often at the Needham Golf Club and my children, Dale & Diana, went to school in Needham with Connie & Nancy. Marie and I were Girl Scout leaders together. A wonderful, caring man.

Mr. Schmidt for several summers in the early 60's took his family to Fenelon Falls, Ontario to lead the Byrnell Manor Hockey School (Bill and Frank Stukus). During my three years there I learned more about his exemplary character, his love of family (his kids Nancy and Conn were at the camp as well), and his kindness. I will always cherish the time with Mr Schmidt. RIP

With good and great people in our lives, we can become a little too comfortable. Then one day, bam!, they are gone. And then , boy do we miss them. Now this is what a hockey person should be like. He represented in a way that was all good and classy. His memory will forever hang tall and deep in our hearts! Prayers go out to all of his family and for his memory.

Good evening..
My name is Elizabeth Reimers.. nee Wahl originally from Kitchener, the home of my father Robert Wahl who was a school mate of Milt in public school. My father always talked about how proud he was to know the members of that famous KRAUT LINE!!!
When Milt's wife had one of her children, it was at the old KW HOSPITAL and I was born at the same time as their child. My birthday is May 15, 1947 and one of his children has a birthday close to mine. My Mother's name was Ingeborg.. SWEDISH!!
I have always wanted to be in touch with someone who has a birthday close to mine.
My Sister, Christine will be 60 on May 22 and she and I are planning to have a joint celebratory birthday party for both of us on the long weekend in MAY at the WALPER HOTEL and I am inviting Milt's child to come and celebrate our birthdays together.
Both of my parents are gone and my DAD was 86 years and one week when he died and my Mom was 92 1/2.
When I read the write up about Milt he was just a couple of months older than my DAD....and I also heard Milt honoured on the 100 players on Sunday afternoon at the outdoor game here in Toronto. My thoughts and prayers are with you as I know what it is like to loose someone you love and care about.
GOD BLESS.......
Elizabeth Reimers
