DAMON, Kent Telfer Kent Telfer Damon, 75, of Boston, MA, passed away on December 14, 2017 of Multiple Myeloma. Born in Springfield, MA, on August 18, 1942, he was the son of the late Alfred and Roberta Damon. Kent was the loving husband for 12 years of Celeste Damon who survives him. Besides his wife, he is survived by his two sons, Kent T. Damon Jr. and his wife Lori of Cambridge, MA and Matt Damon and his wife Luciana of Pacific Palisades, CA. Kent had five grandchildren: Jackson, Miles, Isabella, Gia, and Stella, and step granddaughter Alexia. Kent through marriage to Celeste was stepfather to Jarrett, Julia and Sarah Wetherell. Kent was the brother to Bert Damon of Newburyport, MA and Glen Damon of Andover, MA. He was the uncle to many nieces and nephews. Kent attended Lawrence Academy, MA, class of '61 and was a graduate of Syracuse University, class of '65. Kent played baseball at Syracuse and was a member of Psi Upsilon fraternity. Upon graduation from college, he worked at Bethlehelm Steel in Detroit. With a career change, he joined Paine Webber as a financial advisor for ten years, and eventually became vice president. In 1986, Kent cofounded Beacon Hill Capital, an investment firm which specialized in raising money for affordable housing. Kent loved sports and outdoor activities. His love of baseball permeated his life and he was an avid Red Sox fan. Running became a daily activity and he succeeded in running the Boston marathon four times. He developed a passion for sailing and it was this interest that filled his soul while he cruised the New England shores for 30 years. Post retirement, he immersed himself in golf and it was at Andover Country Club where he perfected his game. He also coached baseball at Newton North High School for 7 years. Kent's overwhelming love of friends and family was obvious to all. He had a captivating smile and had an ease with people from all walks of life. Kent's sons would say he was the best father; Kent's friends would say that he was the glue that kept everyone together.
