CROWE Robert J. Crowe, 75, of Haverhill, was called home on Saturday, August 11, 2012 at the Merrimack Valley Hospital after being stricken ill suddenly at home. Born in Somerville, he was the son of the late, Patrick and Mary (Neylon) Crowe. He attended Somerville Public Schools and was a graduate of Somerville Trade School and Wentworth Institute of Technology. Upon graduation, Mr. Crowe enlisted into the U.S. Army, a Korean War Veteran, and proudly served his country until he was honorably discharged in 1957. His memberships include the AMVETS, and the Ancient Order of the Hibernians. In 1970, he moved to Haverhill with his wife Dorothy to raise their family. He was employed as a Machinist at the Riverside Press, the Record American and finally the Boston Herald until his retirement in 2006. Bob had the good fortune of spending his summers in Haverhill and his winters in Fort Myers, Florida. He adored his eleven grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them and going to their sporting events. He also enjoyed woodworking in his spare time. Bob was a very strong family man who will be sadly missed by his beloved wife of fifty-three years, Dorothy R. (Wilhoite) Crowe, of Haverhill, two sons, Robert P. and his wife Cathy, of Hamden, CT and Kevin M. and his wife Lori of Fort Myers, FL, three daughters, Patricia A. Cronin and her husband, Carlton, Dorothy (Dodi) Crowe and Jacqueline Brent and her husband Joseph, all of Haverhill. He also leaves eleven grandchildren, C.J., Connor and Molly Cronin, Nolan, Erin and Joey Brent, Kyle, Casey, Kenlie, Derek, and Brian Crowe. He leaves two brothers, Paul Crowe of Somerville and Leo Crowe and his wife, Maureen, of Burlington, two sisters, Mary Langdon and her husband, Jack of Brookline and Margaret Paino and her husband, Bartholomew, of Somerville, sister-in-law, Rita Crowe, also of Somerville, and several nieces and nephews. Friends and family are respectfully invited to call on Wednesday from 4:00 P.M.- 8:00 P.M. at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main Street (Rte 125), HAVERHILL. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday at 9:00 A.M. from the Funeral Home with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. at St. John the Baptist Church, Lincoln Avenue, Haverhill.
