died December 21, 2016 in Birmingham, AL. Anne was born on Terra Cia Island, FL., and grew up in Bradenton. She was a graduate of Florida State University and had a long career as a medical laboratory technologist at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia, University of Florida Shands Hospital in Gainesville, Florida and NASA in California. She was a research technician and later a budget director at NASA's AMES Research Center in California for 30 years before retiring and moving home to Bradenton in 1995. Anne was an active member of The First United Methodist Church, where she served faithfully on many committees and boards and frequently represented her church at Methodist Conferences. She loved God, her church, her many lifelong friends, and her family. Anne is survived by her brother, Arren L. Goodwin, Jr., and sister-in-law Karen E. Godwin of Birmingham, AL, nieces Stephanie Alonso (Edward) of Birmingham, AL and Jennifer Monroe (Bill) of Spartanburg, SC and 6 grand-nieces and nephews, Maria, Maddie, Joey, Daniel, Emilie and David. There will be a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 6, 2017 at The First United Methodist Church, 603 11th St. W., Bradenton, FL.
