Bruce Tymeson, Sr. The day after celebrating his 79th Birthday, our Dearly Beloved Bruce Tymeson, Sr., unexpec- tedly went Home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on June 24, 2018. Born on June 23, 1939 in Upper Montclair, NJ of parents, Grace Oefinger and Lester Tymeson, Bruce graduated from Bloomfield High in 1957. Upon graduation he entered the USMC serving until 1962. He then graduated from the Plainfield, NJ Police Academy, and served in Law Enforcement during the NJ riots. He later moved to Anna Maria Island, FL where he continued his Law Enforcement career in Longboat Key, then onto the City of Anna Maria where he was Chief of Police. During Vice-President Hubert H. Humphrey's campaign for USA President, Bruce served as Vice-President Humphrey's personal bodyguard. After serving in Law Enforcement for 20 years, Bruce became Manager of Crowder Bros. Hardware, then True Value Home Hardware stores. He retired at the age of 75 years, moving to Lake City, FL. Bruce was a devoted Born-Again Christian. He is survived by his wife, Dianne, six children, twenty-one grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and his loyal companion, Holly.
