Connelly of Bradenton, FL. Colleen will also be missed by her three grandchildren, Ryan Fitzpatrick of San Francisco, Caitlin Fitzpatrick of Hyattsville, and Renee Guschel of Lindenhurst, two sons-in-law, Jerry Fitzpatrick and Bruce Flippens, and numerous nieces and nephews. Colleen will be fondly remembered by countless friends and neighbors in Maryland and Bradenton, FL where she spent her winter months for nearly 20 years. She will also be missed by her classmates from Trinity Preparatory School, many of whom she remained in touch with after graduating in 1948. Colleen loved life and lived hers to the fullest. She contracted polio at age 13. As she lay in the hospital for several months, she occupied her time listening to the radio and singing along with the popular female jazz singers of the day. She would later become well known for her beautiful singing voice. Besides her family, Colleen had many loves-first and foremost Jesus. She also enjoyed gardening and volunteering. She retired from the State of Maryland after more than 20 years of service. A celebration of Colleen's life will take place on Saturday, June 3rd, 2017 at 10 a.m. at Catonsville Assembly of God, 1928 Frederick Rd., Catonsville, MD. In accordance with her long-standing wishes, Colleen's remains were donated to the State of Maryland Anatomy Board for medical research. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations in her name be made to Meals on Wheels of Central MD.
