David C. Otterbein, age 69, of Bradenton, FL passed away Thursday, Sept. 8, 2016. David was born in Patterson, NJ on Oct. 24, 1946. David grew up in Chatham, NJ before moving to Millington, NJ and graduating from Watchung Hills Regional High School. After high school he joined the US Air Force and was stationed in both the Philippines & Mountain Home, Idaho. He was also a volunteer on the Chatham Emergency Squad. Most recently, David was employed by the Manatee County School District as an Electrician. Prior to that, David was employed at Disney World in Orlando. Since he was a young boy he always had a love for fireworks which led him to be employed by the Zambelli Fireworks company where he put on firework shows for special events. David's greatest accomplishment and joy was the time he spent managing his DCO Racing Team at the Sarasota BMX Track. David dedicated his life to mentoring these children to realize their full potential. He is survived by his sisters, Ruth Sarrett of Brick, NJ and Mary Ellison of Cumming, GA.
