Age 60, passed away peacefully at her home on August 11, 2017. The days leading up to her passing, she was surrounded by the unconditional love of her family and close friends. Lane was born on April 11, 1957 in Long Island, New York to Helen Tucker and Pasquale Navas, and was the third of nine children. Lane was an incredibly talented singer, songwriter, and guitar player. She and her sister, Valerie were the lead singers for their band, "Sister Act & Company", who played many community events over the past 20 years. She attended USF to earn her Bachelor's Degree in ESE. She then received her Master's Degree from National-Louis University. She taught hundreds of children with Special Needs and made a tremendous impact on each one of them, and their families. Lane was often described as an angel on earth, who made every person feel special. She left her mark on many local children's organizations including Foundation for Dreams, Inc., the YMCA, and Easter Seals. Lane had the brightest smile, the warmest hugs, and a sense of humor that could make anyone laugh. She lived her life with the sole purpose of helping others. She is survived by her loving "second parents" Ron and Kathy, her sisters: Lori, Valerie (Donnie), Melanie (Christian), and Wanda (Lawrence); her brothers: Jay (Jeanette), Rick, Steve, and Pasquale (Helen); her godson Brian, and her niece and best friend Jennifer (Joseph). Lane had numerous dearly-loved nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who she considered family. All are welcome to attend her Celebration of Life at Mansion Memorial Park in Ellenton, FL on Saturday, August 19th, 2017 at 11:00am.
