Joseph Anthony Salamone, 70, passed away Monday, March 22, 2010 succumbing to his long but courageous battle with cancer. He joins his beloved siblings, brothers, Tom and Donnie and sister, Roseanne, and his parents Angie and Dominic in Heaven. Born in Cleveland, OH and a proud American who served in the Marines. Joe is survived by his wife of 47 years, Marianne and their seven children- Paul (Sonia), Michael, Brian (Jennifer), Anne-Marie, Alicia (Mike) Stewart, Nikki (Ronald) and Danielle along with eleven grandchildren; Gabrielle, Benjamin, Elijah, Dominic, Sara, Megan, Amanda, Matthew, Sadie, Melissa, and Michael. He also has an extended family, lifetime friends, and all those that he encountered for a moment but left his trademark of love and concern. The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 25, 2010 from 6-9 p.m. at Shannon Funeral Home Westview Chapel, 5610 Manatee Avenue West, Bradenton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 26, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. in the sanctuary of Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 2850 75th St. W., Bradenton. Committal services will be held on Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at the Florida National Cemetery, 6502 SW 102nd Avenue, Bushnell, Florida with full military honors.
