of Bradenton, FL. Lois grew up in Connecticut swimming the Byram Shores. Her mother would take her on a train into Manhattan to tap dance on the radio. She kept dancing - on stages or even underwater when she performed in a water show that toured in Cuba. On a train out of New York, a handsome GI came over to pet her chihuahua. The Italian engineer and the leggy blonde Dane shared a wonderful life together until he passed away in 2012. On Feb. 21, 2017,the day after what would have been their 66th wedding anniversary, Lois reunited with her loving husband Vincent. Lois and Vince raised their family in Rochester, New York, then took a late career second act in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Lois happily retired her snow boots for swimsuits when they moved to Florida in 1999. The sandy beaches, blue waters and pink hibiscus were well deserved and the whole family enjoyed sunny visits with Lois and Vince. Christiane and her family soon made Bradenton home. Lois leaves behind four adoring children and families. Daughter Christiane Meli Petrakopoulos with husband Nikitas children, Alexander and Andreea and her daughter, Sophia; Frank Meli with children, Alexis and her son Asher, Adrian, his wife, Jennifer and their daughters, Maisie, and Marissa; Vynnie Meli with husband Gregg Marcus and daughters Kylie and Quinn; and Lisa Joy Meli with son Jessen and daughter Selena. Devoted daughter of Christian and Esther Hvolbeck, Lois is survived by her brother, Raymond Hvolbeck in Bedford Hills, NY.
