Patricia A. Geyer, 79, Holmes Beach, died May 1, 2010. Mrs. Geyer was born October 29, 1930 in Cincinnati, Oh, came to this area in 1960 coming from Cincinnati. Mrs. Geyer was the owner and operator of Duffy's Tavern on Holmes Beach since 1971. She was also a former two-time mayor of Holmes Beach, first being elected in 1978. She was a volunteer with the former Anna Maria Volunteer Fire Department and was Queen of the Privateers, and a member of the St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Holmes Beach. She was predeceased by her husband Edward E. Geyer in May of 2009, and is survived by five daughters; Patti (Rodney) Reid of Holmes Beach, Pamela (Fiancé Willie Herschberger) Geyer, Peggi (Bruce) Davenport and Polli (Erick) Stroup all of Bradenton, and Penni Geyer of Hendersonville, NC, one brother, Bobby Klein of Nashville, TN, one sister Margie (Jim) Zentmeyer of Cincinnati, OH four granddaughters and two great-granddaughters. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 5, 2010 from 4-8 P.M. at Shannon Funeral Home Westview Chapel, 5610 Manatee Ave. W. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, May 6, 2010 10:00 A.M., at St. Bernard's Catholic Church on Holmes Beach with interment to follow at Sarasota National Cemetery.
