We had the pleasure of meeting Bill Davis in 1975 when my husband Bob Cotnam ran for office in North Renfrew. Though Bob was unsuccessful, we always admired Bill who placed a lot of faith in him . I had the honour of driving his wife Kathleen around in my neighbour's baby blue cadillac while the politicians attended special candidate meetings. Kathy made me feel very comfortable .
I am remiss in sending these condolences at this late date but wanted to express sympathy to his family.

Bill Davis was my kind of Tory and a great man for Ontario. My years attached to his Gov’t working as Executive Assistant for his Solicitor General (Mr. George Taylor, QC., another wonderful gentlemen and leader) were some of the best years of my life. I was a fly on the wall in a few meetings where he presided. So impressive yet he had a quiet demeanour. I learned so much from them it affected the course of my life.

My condolences. The Honourable William G. Davis was Premier when I was a wide eyed 13 year old Legislative Page in 1976. I recall him joking with me one afternoon about my great name...he set me at ease and I never forgot that. RIP sir.

In 1971,just before election day Bill sat with me in my home and told me the polls told him I was not going to win, the polls were right, the following year he returned to my home for a meet and greet with community leaders. Bill and these two events had a profound impact on my life and I never got the opportunity to thank Bill, I do so now!

I've always admired Mr. Davis snd I was so elated to meet him, he wanted me to get involved in politics and I asked him if he'd be my mentor and he gladly said of course. My sincere condolences to his family and friends...Rest well and someday when I get to heaven we'll meet again and you can be my mentor
