Susan Aldrich Obituary

SAXTONS RIVER -- Susan Vose Aldrich died peacefully on Friday, April 23, 2004.

She was bom in Woonsocket, R. I., on December 4, 1923, the daughter of James E. and Hilda (Prue) Vose. She participated in many sports and activities at the University of Rhode Island. After marrying Roland Aldrich in 1946, she moved with her husband to their Vermont home in 1948. Roland died in 1967.

Susan taught kindergarten at Saxtons River School for many years. She deeply loved her farnily, friends, and community. She enjoyed gardening, animals, traveling and golf. She was especially proud of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Susan participated in community activities. She was a volunteer reader in the Saxtons River Elementary School and an active member of Christ's Church. She was also a member of the Bell Choir, Saxtons River Historical Society, and Nature Club.

Susan leaves three daughters: Joan Keefe of Vero Beach, Fla., Ruth and husband Peter Hall of Norwich, and Susan and husband Chris Cota of Saxtons River; a granddaughter, Sara and husband Chris Daly of Middlebury; a grandson, Matthew and wife Sarah Cota of Santa Barbara, Calif.; two grandsons, Nicholas Hall of Tempe, Ariz., and Tyler Hall of Norwich; and two great-grandsons, Samuel Daly and Davis Cota.

A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, May 1, 2004, at 1 p.m. at Christ's Church in Saxtons River. Private burial will be in Rhode Island.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Christ's Church, Saxtons River, VT 05154, or to Springfield Memorial Hospital, Springfield, VT 05156.
