Steven H. Deyo

Steven H. Deyo 1949 - 2008 HINSDALE, N.H. Steven H. Deyo, 59, of Hinsdale died Monday, Dec. 8, 2008, in Brattleboro Memorial Hospital, following an illness. Born in Brattleboro on Nov. 25, 1949, son of Vera Maynard Deyo and the late Harold E. Deyo Jr., he attended schools in Brattleboro, graduated from BUHS in the class of '67 and received a degree from Vermont Technical College in the class of 1969. Mr. Deyo worked as a civil engineer and helped in the initial construction of Vermont Yankee. During his career, he lived and worked in Ohio, Florida, Louisiana, New Jersey and Connecticut, before coming back to the area, settling in Hinsdale. Most recently, his projects brought him to Boston and Maryland. An avid hunter and fisherman, he enjoyed gardening, ice fishing and woodworking. His fondest memories were those made with his many family members and friends. He leaves his wife Jaclyn Thayer Deyo; a son, Steven H. Deyo Jr. and his wife, Elizabeth, of Wethersfield, Conn.; a daughter, Amy Deyo Welton and her husband, Gerald of Swanzey, N.H.; his mother, Vera Deyo of Brattleboro; a sister, Jeanne Deyo of Brattleboro; two brothers, James Deyo and his wife, Susan, and David Deyo and his wife, Sherri, all of Brattleboro; one grandson, Geramy Welton; a godchild, Pamela Deyo of Brattleboro, and several nieces and nephews. FUNERAL NOTICE: Calling hours in the KER WESTERLUND FUNERAL HOME will be Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. A memorial service will be Friday, Dec. 12, at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church on Main Street, Brattleboro.
