Jason Matthew Williams

p>Jason Matthew Williams, 25, of Bridgeton, died unexpectedly Wednesday afternoon, May 14, 2008, as a result of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident on Old Deerfield Pike, in Upper Deerfield Township.

Jason was the son of Billy C. Jr. and Brenda L. (nee Delaney) Williams, of Hopewell Township. He was born at Newcomb Hospital, in Vineland, and was raised in Hopewell Township, and had been a resident of Bridgeton for nearly four years. He graduated from Hopewell Crest School, and was a 2001 graduate of Cumberland Regional High School. In high school, Jason had been a member of the golf team, wrestling team and baseball team.

After high school, he attended the Cumberland County Technical Education Center and received training to become an electrician, and also spent four years in the electrician¹s apprenticeship program at Camden County College. He was studying and preparing to take the state test to receive his electrician¹s license. For the past two months, Jason had been working at Mannington Mills, in Salem, as an electrician.

Always working to better himself, he set big goals for himself. He enjoyed fishing and bowling. His family will remember him as a good and loving son, brother and friend. He loved his own son, Jason Matthew Williams Jr., more than anything in the world.

In addition to his parents and son, he is survived by two brothers, Billy C. “Bud” William III and his wife, NancyJo, of Hopewell Township, and Craig P. Williams, also of Hopewell Township; one niece, Gracie Williams; and one nephew, Brent Williams. Jason is also survived by his longtime-girlfriend and mother of his son, Dayna Price; his paternal grandparents, Bill and Mildred (nee Emlet) Williams, of Stow Creek Township; his maternal grandmother, Barbara (nee English) Delaney, of Mantua; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Bill Delaney.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service at the Cohansey Baptist Church, Roadstown Road, in Roadstown, on Monday morning, May 19, at 11 a.m.

The church¹s pastor, Rev. Peter Ely, will officiate, and he will be assisted by Rev. David Strope, of the West Park United Methodist Church.

The burial will take place at Fernwood Memorial Park, in Hopewell Township.

Friends will be received at the Freitag Funeral Home, 137 W. Commerce St., Bridgeton, on Sunday evening from 6 until 8 p.m., and also at the church Monday morning from 10 until 11 a.m.
