I just learned of Doug's Passing today as my good friend Larry Grigsby and I were talking about getting in touch with Doug. Both Larry and were saddened to hear as we were such good friends. I played Little League Baseball, street ball, and celebrated Our Birthdays together swimming at my house and we lived 2 houses away. Many memories, we are saddened to hear of your loss. May your many remembrances of great experiences and happy times help console your grief. May your faith give strength and may your eternal hope give peace.

Doug was an amazing person and Teammate! One of the best competitors I’ve ever had the pleasure to play catch with everyday when we played together. I loved to pick his brain on the daily and absorb any of the knowledge he was always willing to share. He had the nastiest change up I’ve ever seen! He will be forever missed. I still wear my watch that he gave to me in 1997 it was a memorable occasion to receive and to be part of that unbelievable year he had!!! Your on the best Team in...

So sorry to hear of Doug's passing. Doug's family were neighbors of ours in the late 60's. He was also a good friend of my younger brother Kenny and his mom & mine were good friends and stayed in communication for years even after they moved to Indiana. When the Indians came to Kansas City to play I took my son's to watch and was able to contact him and he came out of the dug out before the game and visited with us. He was a super nice guy. Sending Prayers out to his family.

I’m so sad to hear of Doug’s passing. I met Doug at church in the 70’s as part of our youth group. Praying for your family as you navigate this time.

Doug was a teammate and friend. We were saddened to hear about his passing. Rest In Peace my friend.

Such a wonderful thing when you are able to live your life doing what you are good at... May his talent and love for the game continue to live on as his legacy. May you all be comforted by this and the eternal love of your heavenly Father.
