Our beloved Beth Anne Barr Holland left to walk in the sunlight of the spirit on the evening of Saturday, Jan. 5, 2019.
She was loved and cherished by all that had contact with her. She spent most of her adult life rambling the country working as a respiratory therapist, from Virginia Beach, Va., to Tampa/St. Petersburg, Fla., to San Diego, and back to northeast Ohio where she was originally from.
She was married to John J Holland Jr. on Jan. 23, 2012, in Las Vegas by Elvis. After a few years in Ohio, she migrated back to the sunny South. She settled in Shallotte near the beaches of Ocean Isle and Holden Beach where she spent all her available time when she was not helping another.
She owed her life to Alcoholics Anonymous, where she passed on her recovery to countless others and developed many friendships and gained many extended families.
She was a bird watcher, animal lover and amateur photographer and kept all the neighborhood birds sheltered and well fed. She always had a smile and a kind word to say. To help a stranger or make a new friend brought her very much happiness. Her passing will leave a huge void in many lives. Beth will be mourned and missed by literally hundreds of people whose lives she has touched.
She is survived by her husband, John J. Holland Jr.; her mother, Becky Dillon and husband Dale of Alliance, Ohio; children, Lindsey Holland of Lake Placid, Fla., Christopher Holland and wife Jaime of Watertown, N.Y.; a brother, Scott Barr and wife Kathy of Troy, Mich.; grandchildren, Eisia, Bryor, Ronin; nieces and nephews, Zachary, Kaitlyn, Hunter and Hannah; uncle, Thomas Barr; aunts, Connie Chakford, Martha Crookshank and Lynn Francis; mother in-law, Mary Ann Holland; a sister in-law, Colleen Sue Holland Erisey.
