James Cary Faircloth, 38, of Holden Beach and Wilmington passed away Sunday, March 4, 2018, in New Hanover Regional Medical Center, Wilmington.
Cary was born in Wilmington on Dec. 10, 1979, a son of James Arthur Lawrence Faircloth and Sheri Fulford. He was a vibrant man full of life and an ordained minister who loved God with all his heart. Cary was a member of Sabbath Home Baptist Church, Holden Beach and Liberty Baptist Church, Wilmington. He was larger than life and loved playing basketball and being outdoors, fishing, hunting, skiing and surfing. He was never afraid to try anything new and was the No.1 fan of the Duke Blue Devils. Through all of his hurdles he encountered, he never complained about his illness. Cary was preceded in death by his grandfather, Jabie Fulford.
Survivors include his mother, Sheri Fulford and significant other, Joe Varano, of Holden Beach; his father, James Faircloth and wife, Rema, of Holden Beach; a brother, Cane Faircloth, his wife, Brea, and daughter, Bella, of Holden Beach; stepbrother, Christopher Lasater, his wife, Briana, and their children, Bralyn and Brantley of Sanford; a niece; maternal grandmother, Ina Lee Fulford of Holden Beach; paternal grandparents, Herman and Erica Faircloth of Holden Beach; and his "Front Porch Posse of Braxton Place."
Funeral services will be conducted at 4 p.m. Thursday, March 8, in Sabbath Home Baptist Church, Supply with the Rev. Wade McLamb, Pastor Randy Ledford and the Rev. Kelly Stanley officiating. Interment will follow in Sabbath Home Church Cemetery.
You are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday, March 8, in Sabbath Home Baptist Church and at other times from the home of Cane and Brea Faircloth at 3123 Old Ferry Road, Supply, NC 28462.
In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that monetary donations be made in his name to Liberty Baptist Church's "Davey Project" at 7957 Market St., Wilmington, NC 28411.
