Theodore "Ted" Racz passed away Monday, April 2, 2018, in the SECU Hospice House of Brunswick.
He was born in Quakertown, Pa., on Nov. 13, 1940.
Ted is survived by his wife of 39 years, Maureen P. Racz; his daughter, Krista M. Berthold and husband, Robert, of Sevierville, Tenn.; grandson, Theodore J. Berthold; and brother, Timothy Racz, his wife, Jane, of Yorktown, Va.
Ted was a U.S. Army veteran who graduated from West Chester University, East Chester, Pa., with a bachelor's degree in physical education and then a master's degree in English. He worked as a sales and marketing executive for 30 years with Avon Products Inc., as well as the cable and entertainment industry in Europe and the United States. He ended his career as an English teacher at a charter high school in Cave Creek, Ariz. His favorite job by far was being an English teacher and having the opportunity to meet and influence very special students who had such a positive influence in his life.
Memorial services were private.
In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that donations be made to the Lower Cape Fear Hospice & LifeCareCenter for the SECU Hospice House of Brunswick, 1414 Physicians Drive, Wilmington, NC 28401.
