Mrs. Glisson was a member of Blitchton Baptist Church for more than 40 years where she served as Sunday school secretary, served on the Purchasing Committee, the Bereavement Committee and sang in the choir for many years. Most importantly, she was a devoted wife and mother of four, who enjoyed singing gospel and bluegrass music with her husband, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joshua and Maggie Sims; 13 siblings; her husband of 45 years, Freddie C. Glisson; her son, Wendell S. (Winkie) Glisson; and her faithful friend of 22 years, Henry M. Towles.
She is survived by her daughters, Gail (Glenn) Stearman of Leesburg, Florida, Judi Green (Richard/Barry) of Modesto, California, and Lorna (Corbett) DeLoach of Statesboro. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, Danette (Steve) Ackley of Winter Haven, Florida, Farrah Glisson of Hoboken, New Jersey, David (Julianne) Stearman of Leesburg, Erik (Erin) Green of Modesto, Kristina (Dan) Catalano of Bozeman, Montana, Jenny Creech of Pembroke, Kate Green of Los Angeles, Ryan (Carmen) Hynko of Sarasota, Florida, and Justin (Heather) Hynko of Statesboro. She is survived by 10 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and many nephews, nieces and cousins.
