Robert Louis Canady, 92, passed away peacefully and went to be with the Lord on January 2, 2021, surrounded by his family.
Robert was born in Twin City, Georgia to Henry Burton and Amanda McDaniel Canady. He graduated from Emanuel County Institute and served in the United States Navy. Robert retired from Union Camp Corporation after 40 years of service. He was a member of The Holy Church of God in Savannah, Georgia for many years. He enjoyed fishing, traveling, and spending time with his family.
His greatest accomplish was his family, as evidence by his 66-year marriage to the love of his life, Wreathel.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, and four brothers.
He is survived by his wife, Wreathel Canady; children, Ricky Canady, Sherry Boxxe (David), and Fred Canady (Kandi); his grandchildren, Lindsey Fiacco (Nicholas), Kyle Canady (Michelle), Landon Boxxe, Chelsey Wood (Brian), Gage Canady, Braelyn Canady, Brittney Carroll, and Jared Wells; his great-grandchildren, Seth Canady, Gabriel Fiacco, Miles Canady, Lilian Fiacco, Benjamin Wood; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, January 7, 2021 at Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery, 1336 Dean Forest Road, Savannah, Georgia.
The family would like to thank his special caregivers, Debra Eldrige-Gallette and Kopro Meyor.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Hospice Savannah or to the charity of your choosing.
