PEMBROKE - Mr. Russell R. Cribbs, 82, passed away at his residence surrounded by his family. Mr. Cribbs was born in Statesboro on September 10, 1936 to the late Robert Lee and Pearl Kangeter Cribbs. After graduating high school, he joined the U.S. Army. After his service, he worked for Purcell Appraisal Service for 32 years as an insurance adjuster. Mr. Cribbs was a member of Old Fellowship Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening, hunting and fishing.
He is preceded in death by three brothers, Leon Cribbs, James Cribbs and Alvis "Bo" Cribbs and two sisters, Christine C. Smith and Alma C. Bragg.
Survivors include his loving wife of 62 years, Gloria Harvey Cribbs; son, Wayne R. Cribbs of Statesboro, two daughters, Vicki C. Torrence (Charlie) of Guntersville, AL and Cathy C. Brinson (Charlie) of Martinez, GA; and four grandchildren, Deanna C. Torrence of Tallassee, AL, Mitchell Brinson of Martinez, GA, Clay Cribbs of Statesboro and Macy Brinson of Martinez, GA.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 20, 2018 from 10 a.m. to noon at Old Fellowship Baptist Church.
Funeral service will follow at noon with Reverend Chuck Beaver and Reverend Mel Shuman officiating.
Burial will follow at church cemetery.
