Patricia McHugh Obituary

Patricia Ann (Yosh) McHugh
November 6, 1942- April 13th, 2021
Patricia Ann McHugh (78) passed away peacefully on April 13th, 2021, in Levittown, Pa surrounded by her husband and children.
Patricia was born in Wilkes-Barre, Pa on November 6th, 1942 to Leo and Beatrice (Scanlon) Yosh . Her early life was spent with her adoring aunts, Mae, Tee, Jackie, Lib Scanlon, her Uncle Leroy, and her grandmother Theresa Scanlon. She was a 1960 Graduate of St. Mary's High School and received a B.S. from Misericordia University in Dallas, Pa in 1964.
Patty Ann married her college sweetheart, John "Jay" McHugh of Rumson, N.J. at St. Mary's Church in Wilkes-Barre, Pa on April 23rd, 1966. She is survived by her spouse, John Jay McHugh from Levittown, Pa., her sons John P and Stephanie McHugh of Jackson, N.J., Mark C McHugh of Cranston, R.I., Kevin J and Beth McHugh of New Kensington, Pa., and daughter Bridget Patricia and Donald E Hoffman of Royal Palm Beach, Fla. She was "Mom Mom" to her eight grandchildren, Ian, Haley, Nicholas, Alexa, Jack, Theodore, Ryan and Fallon. She leaves her brother, Leo R Yosh and Roberta Shurnicki, of Larksville,Pa. , along with many cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Pat loved to travel with her loving husband Jay. They cruised, swam, read books on the beach and danced their way through the Caribbean for years. Pat wore many hats throughout her life, teacher, musician, and designer. She taught High School Business courses in Wilkes Barre, Nursery School at the Lower Bucks YMCA, and was a Water Safety Instructor training new lifeguards. In early life she played the organ at St. Mary's Church in Wilkes Barre. She worked for Lenox Brands of Lawrenceville, N.J. for over 25 years. She loved traveling the country for Lenox, designing and displaying their table settings and home decor. She tirelessly demanded perfection of her work.
Her passion in life were her family and her beloved dogs. She loved to spend time with all of them as much as possible. She enjoyed watching football or the Olympics, planting flowers in the yard, setting the perfect Holiday table, with all the trimmings, for every family gathering. She had an eye for fashion, which she used to keep her entire family dressed well to reflect her taste. She played cards and laughed with her girlfriends every month for decades. She loved all animals and even bred and trained Irish Setters and adored her Yorkies. Her most special times were dining with Jay at their favorite 'bistro', the joy of one more date, and chance to pray, "Jesus Jay!", as he teased her kindness. Her love for life and her family was unconditional; it was her strength and mission. Her light shines bright through all who knew and loved her.
Services will be private. In lieu of flowers please support the Bucks County S.P.C.A. in her honor. https://www.bcspca.org/
