TALLMADGE: Maxine Kathryn Ward, 76, passed away April 23, 2013 after a brief illness.

Born in Bucyrus, Ohio, Maxine has lived in Tallmadge since 1965. She volunteered as a secretary for her bowling league at Kent Lanes and was employed with the Board of Elections for many years. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, watching her soaps, doing her puzzle books, and listening to Neil Diamond. She also loved going to lunch with her friends, playing bridge, and spending time with her grandchildren.

She will be greatly missed by everyone who met her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John; son, Douglas Ward; and brother, Ronald Beam.

Maxine is survived by her daughter, Wendy (William) Howd of Tallmadge; grandchildren, Joy Howd, Jordan (Jennifer) Howd, Toni (Jeffrey) Gates, and Luke Ward; great grandson, Mason Howd; daughter-in-law, Brenda Ward of Suffield; sister-in-law, Linda Beam; niece, Lisa (Dan) Buckley; and nephew, Jim (Jessica) Beam both of Canton.

Memorial services will be 3 p.m. Saturday, May 4, 2013 at the Donovan Bagnoli Funeral Home, 339 Southwest Ave., Tallmadge with Rev. Matt Wooster officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
