BUCYRUS: Annabelle Gerhart Riedel of Bucyrus, passed away early Saturday afternoon at the home of her son Dan where she had been staying during a brief illness.

Annabelle was born August 3, 1931 in Crawford Co. to the late Elwood and Norma (Probst) Ulmer. She was first married to Arthur R. Gerhart April 16, 1950 and he preceded her in death on December 21, 1992. Annabelle was married January 20, 1996 to Paul L. Riedel who preceded her in death on September 11, 2011. She was also preceded in death by son, Charles Gerhart; sister, Lois; granddaughter, Hayley; step grandson, Ryan Stover; sister in law, Dorothy Smith; brother in laws, Bud Smith and Robert Gerhart as well as brother and sister in laws, Kenneth (Alvena), William (Janet), Carl "Sam" (Patricia) Gerhart.

Annabelle is survived by children, Larry A. (Betsy) Gerhart, Bucyrus, Elaine (Daniel) Whitmeyer, Bucyrus, Daniel (Krista) Gerhart, Marion, Allan R. (Jamie) Gerhart, Hamilton, Diana (Rick) Jones, Galion; daughter in law, Becky Gerhart, Delaware; step children, Pam (Gene) Marquart, Willard, Teresa (Louie) Casperson, Canal Winchester, Tom (Kathy) Riedel, Canton, GA, David (Lori) Riedel, Centreville, VA; 18 grandchildren; seven step grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; sisters, Nina (Donald) Noblit, Marysville, Alice (Walter) Schimpf, New Washington, Joyce (Paul) Hartschuh, Sycamore; sister in laws, Ireta (Ellis) Oberlander, Lois (Donald) Albert, Miriam (Jim) Etzinger, Dorothy (Vic) Cassaro all of Bucyrus; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Annabelle graduated from Sulphur Springs H.S. in 1949 and worked for a short time at Newberry's and Huggins Auto Sales. She last worked as a cook at Wynford High School for 15 yrs. She was a lifelong member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Ridgeton Rd. and served in several offices as well as being a Sunday School Teacher, Member of the Women of the Church, and Treasurer. Annabelle had belonged to numerous Card Clubs and Mothers Clubs over the years. She was a member of the Am. Legion 181 Ladies Aux., the Ladies of the Moose, and was a volunteer for the Court House TRIAD. She loved to travel and visited all 50 states. Annabelle enjoyed playing cards with family and friends, gardening, flowers, and canning. Most of all she enjoyed attending all of her grandchildren's school events over the years.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 am in the St. Paul Lutheran Church, Ridgeton Rd. with Rev. Hans Scherner and Rev. Jack Kocsis officiating, burial will follow in the St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call at the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home on Wednesday where the family will receive friends from 1-3 and 6-8 pm.
