Fred was an awesome inspiration for me while studying Architecture at SUNY Buffalo (BPS 1987). His contributions to the City of Buffalo and the many students he mentored will leave a lasting impression for a long time to come.

Ted Lownie was my first mentor as an architectural student. I had the pleasure of being his student and employee. Thank you Ted for all your guidance. You will be missed.

We used Ted's firm, HHL Architects for virtually all the architectural work at One Seneca Tower. I only had the pleasure of working with Ted on a few projects. Not surprisingly, his designs were well thought out, thorough and always innovative.
I did get to know Ted over the years of working with his partners at HHL. He always had a smile on his face and was filled with a sense of optimism. That's how I'll always remember him!
