Mary I. Lirhus

Mary Lirhus, age 74, passed away on January 17th, 2017 at her home in Burbank, California. She was born to William and Marie Kittelberger on February 2, 1943 in Los Angeles, California. Mary enjoyed cooking, decorating her home, growing herbs and painting. She spent years researching and collecting information about St. Cabrini's life for her Villa Cabrini Academy Alumni Association and was actively involved in the Villa Cabrini Academy Facebook page helping alumni reconnect with one other. Mary was also an active member of her breast cancer support group. Her kindness and strength was an inspiration to all. Mary's signature gift of joy, shown through her laughter, entertaining stories, and joking around, will never be forgotten. Heaven has a new angel. She touched the hearts of everyone she met, including her Brand Park painting class, Villa Cabrini Alumni, breast cancer support group, and the regular customers of local restaurants where she worked for many years as a waitress.Mary is lovingly remembered by her husband Knut, his daughter Sandra, her husband Bruce, and their children Madeline and Liam, Knut's son Glenn, Mary's sister Buena and her husband Kishor, and their daughter Regina, Mary's brother Walter, his wife Nancy, and their children William and Katy, and many dear and lifelong friends. Special acknowledgement to Valley's Best Hospice for their compassionate care. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, February 17th, 2017 at 10:00 am at St. Finbar Church, 2010 W. Olive Ave., Burbank, California. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Association.
