ORANGE VILLAGE — W. Ray Everett, 86, passed away March 22, 2019. He was born August 18, 1932 to the late Robert and Blanche Everett (nee Russell) in Champaign County, Ohio. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Maxine Everett (nee Githens) in 1986.
Ray's careers spanned over 40 years of public service. He taught high school mathematics prior to becoming treasurer of the Shaker Heights school district. Following his first retirement, he served as clerk of court for Shaker Heights. An ardent bridge player and gardener, he also enjoyed repairing and refinishing furniture for family and friends. In addition, he traveled throughout the country and much of the world.
He is survived by his wife, Janet Everett (nee Jenks); children, Timothy Everett (Miriam) and Steven
Everett (Graziella); stepchildren, Jennifer Frohlich (Todd Angelo) and Jonathan Gilles (Victoria); grandchildren Julia Frohlich, William Everett, Jackson and Tristan Gilles; brother, Russell Everett (Gloria); sister, Linda Larcher (Earl); brother-in-law, Ivan Bowman (the late Martha); and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service to celebrate Ray's life will be held July 29, 2019 at 11 a.m. at the Church of the Saviour, 2537 Lee Rd, Cleveland Heights, OH. The family will receive friends afterward. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Ray's memory may be made to:
